Using the Student Interactive Notebook

At this time, we have limited products that include the interactive notebook. Contact your sales representative to see if the product you want has these features.

Viewing Annotations:

Any annotations or notes you make in the Interactive Edition will appear in the "Notebook" section of the right panel.

Making annotations in the interactive notebook.

  1. Start by using your cursor to select and highlight the text you want to note (click and drag mouse).

  2. After successfully selecting the desired text the following annotation tools will appear on your screen.

  3. To save an annotation, you will need to choose one of the four annotation styles and then click the blue save button:
    1. Highlight color - click the dropdown arrow to select from 8 different colors
    2. Underline text
    3. Double underline text
    4. Circle text
    5. Labels
    6. Notes

The annotation tool also gives you the option to label your notes using key words, ideas, or phrases.
  1. You can select from a label that you have already created, or select the "Add Label" button to add a new label.

  1. You can also add your own notes or comments to the annotated text using the note icon on the tool bar. Any text you type will then appear on the right side Notebook panel under the text you highlighted.

In the right side Notebook panel, you can edit notes, add notes, and add labels by selecting the pencil icon in the lower right hand corner of the note.

You can also add notes and/or labels by selecting the green + button, entering text and selecting or adding labels, and clicking on the blue save button in the bottom right corner of the note.
If you have multiple notes you may need to scroll to the bottom of the page to add notes

To delete an annotation, select the trash can icon in the bottom right corner of the note. A confirmation message will appear to make sure you intend to delete the note. Click the red delete button to confirm you want to delete the annotation.

You will then get a pop-up asking if you want to delete the annotation.
