Teacher Grading Guide

The Grading feature is only available to schools or districts that purchased the interactive editions. At this time, we have limited products that include these interactive editions. Contact your sales representative to see if the product you want has these features.
Students must complete the exercises within the assigned lessons for the instructor to grade these lessons.  
Exercises that are multiple choice and drag and drop will be automatically graded after the student clicks the Submit button.  

Grading an Assignment

Start by using the top left Menu to expand the options and select Assignments.

  1. Click on the name of the assignment associated with the class you would like to grade.


  2. Once the interactive edition opens to the section selected, click the Grading tab on the right panel to begin grading.



  3. Make sure the box is checked next to Grading Enabled. The the right of each student's name you will see icons to help you identify their status or progress.
    1. If a student has finished the exercise, you will see a red triangle with an exclamation point indicating "The sub-lesson needs to be graded."



    2. If a student has not finished the exercise, you will see a black flag indicating "The student is working on this sub-lesson."



  4. Once a student has been selected, you will see an eye icon to the left of their name to indicate you are reviewing their work.


  5. Some questions will have rubrics to help the instructor determine the best score for a student’s answer as in this example.


  6. Select the points, type any feedback you have for the student, Once all the points and optional feedback has been entered, click the green “Save” button to move on to the next student.



  7. Vocabulary and multiple choice questions will be automatically graded. Correct answers will be shown with a green check mark, and incorrect answers will be shown with an X in a red circle.


  8. If there are multiple classes with the same assignment, then click the drop down arrow next to the word “Class” (below the Grading tab) to select the other class or classes and grade those answers as well. 
  9. Once a grade has been entered for all students in an exercise, scroll to the top and select the next exercise to view student answers and provide a grade.
  10. Follow this process until a grade has been provided to each student in each exercise within the lesson. 
  11. There is also a “Show Answer” feature available to the instructor only, which will show the correct answer to the questions. 

After entering grades for all your students within a lesson you can access the reports. Go to Reporting
